Sex and the Stars
Aries Season

All you need to know about Aries season: queering sex and astrology
Something is building underground. You can feel it in the heat rising through the soles of your feet, in the restless hum before the earth cracks open. Aries season (March 21 – April 20) is the volcano — not the explosion, but the moment the pressure finds its way to the surface. If you survived Mercury retrograde in Pisces, congratulations. This is your reward: the astrological new year, the autumn equinox, and the first sign of the zodiac saying let’s go!

Trans day of visibility: Venus crosses the threshold (March 31)
In astrology, Venus in Aries is in detriment — uncomfortable, out of place, too much for the room. In Taurus, Venus is in its dignity — grounded, embodied, home. Venus has been worshipped for thousands of years in every form — fierce and soft, seen and shadowed. In detriment and in dignity — that is the lived reality of visibility. The brightest planet in our night sky, a light you can’t miss, even in the dark.
Around 3am AEDT on 31 March, while most of us are sleeping, Venus transitions from Aries into Taurus. Moving from one archetype to another — from the warrior to the sensualist, from Mars-ruled fire into Venus-ruled earth. The ancient world has always known this story.
The Sumerians knew Venus as Inanna, a deity who defied gender, crossed between worlds, and protected those who existed outside the binary. A planet of love, beauty, and connection — worshipped across cultures for centuries. Venus has always belonged to everyone. As Venus moves into Taurus, that visibility becomes something grounded, beautiful and to be protected.
This year the shift/transition is coinciding with Trans Day of Visibility and there’s no better time than now to find out how to show up and take action this #TDOV
Mars in Aries: the warrior comes home
Mars moves into Aries on April 10 — the planet of drive, bravery and raw courage returning to its favourite sign.
On April 13, Mars meets Neptune in Aries — desire dissolves into something bigger than you. This is the collective call, the revolution that asks you to stand for more than just yourself.
Then on April 20, Mars meets Saturn in Aries in one of the most tense and charged transits of the season. This is where desire collides with resistance — where what you want runs headfirst into what’s in the way. The temptation may be to go to battle with everyone around you — but this isn’t about fighting. What if the struggle itself is the teacher? What if what feels like resistance is forging something solid within you?
Aries season is inflammatory by nature — and inflammation isn’t always the enemy. Sometimes the heat in your body, your relationships, your sex life is the thing that finally moves stagnant energy. A conflict that clears the air. A separation that makes space for something honest. A new beginning that only becomes possible because the old thing caught fire.
Aries and your body: your zodiac path to sexual wellbeing
Aries rules the head, muscles, blood pressure and adrenal glands — the parts that run hot when life runs fast. And this season, everything is running fast.
Cortisol, mood, energy, stress — none of it stays in its lane. When one shifts, the rest follows. When the tank is running low, desire quietly steps back too. How present you are with yourself — in your body, in your pleasure, in your stillness — shapes how present you can be with others. Aries season turns the dial up on all of it — these are the areas worth paying attention to this month.
For those living with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) this may already resonate — stress, low mood and anxiety are common with the condition and can affect everything from your energy to your relationships and libido. Managing your wellbeing is all part of the journey.
Consider this your Aries season nudge: book that appointment you’ve been putting off. Follow up on that referral. Chase up that test result. Share your experiences with friends and peers — what worked, what didn’t. Advocating for basic healthcare isn’t just personal — it lifts the whole community. Knowing your healthcare rights — including how to raise a complaint — makes a difference.
Now go and honour that body that carries you through every fire!
